President
Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has often been described as BabaGoSlow by some
Nigerians but the lanky number one citizen of the most populous black nation do
not quiet agree with this tag.
Buhari who came to power in May 2015, stated that he is
slow because he wants to avoid a disaster, noting that, he is trying to change
the structures put in place by his predecessors.
He said
this in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital on Friday in an audience with Women In
Politics Forum (WIPF).
“People
say we are slow. We are trying to change structures put in place by our
predecessors in office for 16 years. If we hurry it, we will make mistakes.
That will be a disaster,” he said.
Speaking on
the budget, he said the country has a budget proposal for the New Year that is
good for employment and manufacturing.
He
reassured that by the end of the second quarter of the year, the positive
impacts of the budget would be felt across the country.
